Mary Jane Doerr is a freelance writer for the Petoskey News-Review since 1979 who has published articles in newspapers and magazines throughout Michigan. Drawing on her years of experience covering the Bay View Assembly Program, she has done many interviews and extensive historical research on the topic of camp meetings and cultural assemblies. She has addressed the Great Lakes History Conference at Grand Valley State University, the Michigan Federation of Women’s Clubs, the Michigan Women’s Studies Association Conference at Delta College, Charlevoix Library Lecture Series, Petoskey’s Carnegie Lecture Series, Questors, and the Women’s Club of Northern Michigan with her PowerPoint presentations.  Here’s a list of her lecture topics.
